The ESI Clean Fuel SystemTM (CFS) is an innovative
Why do I need an ESI Clean Fuel System?
The marine environment provides ideal conditions for the contamination of fuel by water and microoganisms. As owners and operators of trawlers, ocean motorboats and sailing yachts, this is of particular concern due to the large storage tanks, complexity of the storage system, and slow fuel turnover rate typical of these vessels. These contaminants can result in poor engine performance and reliability, which can lead to unsafe conditions while underway. Expensive maintenance and repair costs can escalate if these conditions cannot be controlled.
Components
DE-BUGTM Fuel Decontamination Unit
The De-Bug Unit is a worldwide leader in microorganism control. Using an exclusive patented design known as the " TRI-MAGTMBug Killer Pak", they are capable of destroying nearly 100% of all microorganisms is a single pass. DE-BUG is exclusive to the Clean Fuel System.
Fuel Transfer Pump
Fuel transfer pumps in the CFS are high quality, 210 GPH pumps, specifically designed for marine fuel applications where low maintenance and long service life is required. (Flow rate with the optional filter is 180 GPH.)
Hardware
The ESI-Clean Fuel System uses high quality components including brass piping, 1/2" ball check full flow brass valves, forged fittings, water and corrosion resistant electrical junction box, and a durable Starboard® mounting board. All compoments are mounted with 18-8 stainless steel fasteners.
Timer
An industrial grade, corrosion ressistant, 6-hour, manual twist timer with auto-shut-off is provided for control of CFS operation periods and safety.
Electrical
The CFS uses a slow-blow 15 Amp fuse, color coded 14 gauge marine grade copper wire, and a terminal block for ease of connection.
Optional Equipment
Fuel filter with water separating capability; select from SeparTM Model 2000/10 or Racor Model 1000FG. Fuel transfer pumps are also available in 24V, 32V and 110V configurations.
How the ESI Clean Fuel System Works
The Clean fuel system is designed to be installed in two ways. It can be installed to become an integral part of your existing fuel supply system, utilizing filters, separators, valves, manifolds, and other components already in place. The second method for installation is to create a stand alone system that will be directly connected to the vessel's fuel storage tanks, independent of the fuel supply system.
After installation of the CFS, your vessel now has the capability to recirculate fuel, using the fuel transfer pump, through the fiter/water separator (optional equipment), the DE-BUG fuel decontamination Unit, and return the "polished" fuel to any of the vessel's storage tanks. Additionally costly and hazardous biocides can now be eliminated.
Care of the ESI Clean Fuel System
The Clean Fuel System is engineered and manufactured with top quality parts and components to ensure long service life. Therefore, little or no maintenance is required. Periodic inspection of the components is recommended.
